Misre Kik Alicha Wot ( split lentils Alicha stew) ምስር ክክ አልጫ
Ingredients
3 cups of split lentils
3 medium onion, finely chopped
2- 3 peeled and chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup oil
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp ginger peeled, and minced
2 teaspoon turmeric
1 jalapeno or hot green pepper (seeded, sliced)
2tsp Korerima ( false cardamom)
salt
Preparation
Place lentils in a bowl and rinse thoroughly. puree the onions in a food processor or chopped finely. Add the onion in a medium skillet oven over medium-high heat add water and cook just beginning to soften about 5 -10 minutes.  Stir frequently until the water evaporates. Once the onions begin to soften, add 1/2 cup oil. Add tomato reduce heat to medium-low to simmer. Add garlic, ginger, and turmeric.  Cook for 10 to 15 minutes Then add split lentil into the onion mixture, add water and reduce the heat. Add Korerima, and pepper mix it well. Season with salt.  Simmer another few more minutes.  Remove from heat. Serve it with injera, Pita bread, bread or ambasha.
