Misir Kik Alicha Wot ( split lentils Alicha stew) ምስር ክክ አልጫ
Ingredients
3 cups of split lentils
3 medium onion, fine chopped
2- 3 peeled and chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp ginger peeled, and minced
2 teaspoon turmeric
1 jalapeno or hot green pepper (seeded, sliced)
Korerima ( false cardamom)
salt
Preparation
Place lentils in a bowl and rinse thoroughly. puree the onions in a food processor or chopped finely. Add the onion in a medium skillet oven over medium-high heat. saute the onion few minutes, stirring regularly. Once the onions begin translucently, add 1/4 cup oil and tomato simmer for 10 to 15 minute. Add lentils, turmeric, garlic, and ginger. Mix it well. Add water reduce heat to medium-low to simmer then cover the lid.  Add more water if required. Let the lentils soft and thick stew. When the lentils are soft thick stew add sliced pepper, 3 tbs of olive oil, Korarima (false cardamom powder)and salt. Simmer 5 more minutes then turn off the heat. Serve it with injera.
